Trump's 'stroke' pathways are now 'crossing the brain': psychologist

A widely cited psychologist raised concerns on Friday evening about a series of unusual behaviors displayed by President Donald Trump. Dr. John Garrision pointed to what he described as strange and troubling patterns, suggesting the 80-year-old commander in chief may be dealing with some form of neurological decline.

Garrision said the behaviors he observed go beyond routine aging. He argued that certain pathways in the brain appear to be crossing, a phrase he used to describe moments when speech, movement, or thought seem to misfire or blend together in ways that are not typical. According to him, these episodes have become more frequent and more visible in recent public appearances.

The psychologist stopped short of offering a formal diagnosis, noting that he has not examined the president directly. Still, he said the pattern warrants attention from medical professionals and the public alike. He called for a closer look at the president's recent speeches, reactions, and physical mannerisms, saying they paint a picture that should not be ignored.

Supporters of the president have dismissed similar claims in the past as partisan attacks. They argue that occasional verbal slips or awkward moments are normal for anyone in a high pressure role, especially at an advanced age. The White House has not responded to Garrision's comments.

Garrision said he hopes his remarks encourage a broader conversation about cognitive health among elected officials, regardless of party. He added that voters deserve transparency when questions about a leader's mental fitness arise.
