The intriguing and often misunderstood world of forensic psychology will be the focus of an upcoming talk at Grand Rapids Community College. Practicing forensic psychologist Dr. Jeffery T. Kieliszewski will present "The Real World of Forensic Psychology" on Wednesday, February 11, at 1 p.m.
The lecture, held in room 168 of the Wisner-Bottrall Applied Technology Center, is a featured event in the college's Psychology Department Lecture Series. Dr. Kieliszewski is expected to move beyond fictionalized television portrayals to share insights from his direct professional experience at the intersection of psychology and the legal system.
The event is organized by the college's Psychology Department. Faculty note that the series aims to provide students and the public with valuable perspectives from working professionals in various psychological fields. This particular lecture offers a rare opportunity to understand the practical applications, ethical considerations, and day-to-day responsibilities of a forensic psychologist, whose work can influence court decisions, criminal assessments, and treatment plans.
