During my orientation at UC Berkeley, I decided to approach the experience as a personal psychology experiment. I rarely returned home, choosing instead to immerse myself in the vibrant social scene that the university offered. Each night was filled with new encounters, laughter, and the thrill of meeting fellow students from diverse backgrounds.
Initially, I was concerned about draining my social battery, fearing that the constant interaction might leave me exhausted. However, to my surprise, the opposite was true. Engaging with others and participating in various activities brought me a sense of joy and fulfillment that I had not anticipated.
As I navigated through this whirlwind of social events, I discovered that stepping out of my comfort zone and embracing the unknown not only enhanced my college experience but also contributed positively to my mental well-being. This unexpected outcome has encouraged me to continue seeking connections and adventures as I embark on my academic journey at UC Berkeley.
